Testing For Speech Sounds
July 12th 2019
Cortical Auditory Evoked Potentials
Basically looking at when Luca’s brain is detecting speech sounds with his hearing aids on in a quiet environment at a distance of approximately 1m.
He is not required to respond verbally, just stay quiet during the testing (hence the book).
Yesterday we tested for the letters T & S. Luca’s brain was quite good at detecting “T” but the volume had to be turned up to detect S. Allison, Luca’s audiologist, can now adjust the settings for the frequency associated with “S” in Luca’s hearing aids accordingly.
Next time we will test for different speech sounds.
