An Evening for Luca

Swipers Gully Restaurant and Vineyard, Kangaroo Ground

The first major fundraising event for Luca Miraglia was held in 2012 when he was just five years old.

“An Evening for Luca” saw 100 family members, friends, and friends of friends gather at Swipers Gully Restaurant and Vineyard in Kangaroo Ground for great food, wine, conversation, and to raise money for Luca’s therapy. Enough money was raised ($20,000) to provide for Luca’s ABA therapy sessions and program supervision for close to six months, an impressive result for an inaugural event.

More than 30 auction items, plus door prizes, were provided by businesses, while others donated time and money. For those who were unable to attend but made a donation, special display boards were created with each name or business featured on a butterfly for all to see.
