Luca Has Done His Part

Luca has done his part

Luca has done his part toward being able to come home as soon as possible. He is getting back to his usual energetic, lively self and tolerating the dialysis (he has graduated from 14 hours overnight to 10 hours with increased volumes) and the doctors are rapt with his progress.

Now it’s up to Rob and I to do our bit and make sure we get enough training to be confident in setting up, connecting, disconnecting, trouble shooting and infection control of peritoneal dialysis (PD).

There is a lot to learn with so many steps and components and although it is very overwhelming at the beginning (particularly when you are sleep deprived and under stress) we are confident that we can nail this and get the tick of approval to go it alone at home.
