Haul for a Cause
Haul for a Cause: A Fundraising Success for The Royal Children’s Hospital
On Good Friday, 20 superstars representing the Luca Miraglia Foundation embarked on a mission combining fitness with philanthropy. Their goal? To haul their hardest in support of The Royal Children’s Hospital, and boy, did they deliver!
This event, aptly named “Haul for a Cause,” not only raised $600, but it also fostered a sense of camaraderie and fun among participants. Spearheaded by Jess, Craig, and the supportive community at PHIIT CLUB, this annual gathering has become a beacon of hope and generosity in our local area.
The funds generated from this spirited effort were directed towards the Kidney Research Flagship’s “Meet the Scientists” event led by Murdoch Children’s Research Institute – MCRI. Here, we had the invaluable opportunity to engage directly with the research team, gaining insights into their groundbreaking work in the realms of stem cell biology and kidney regeneration.
It’s truly remarkable to witness professionals of such calibre right here in our hometown leading the charge in research to enhance the quality of life for young and old individuals living with kidney failure.
But the impact didn’t stop there. With the unwavering support of participants and donors, a substantial $1,600 was also donated to the MCRI’s “Regrow a Kidney” program. This initiative holds promise in revolutionising treatment options and outcomes for those affected by kidney-related ailments.
In essence, Haul for a Cause transcends the boundaries of a mere fundraising event. It symbolises community unity, collective empowerment, and a shared commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of others. As we reflect on the success of this endeavour, let it serve as a reminder of the incredible things that can be achieved when we come together for a common cause.
